Welcome to the official website of the
firefighters of Danville, IL. We are
members of Local 429 of the
International
Association of Firefighters.
We hope that the information you find
here will raise your interest and answer
some of your questions about
Danville's Bravest: the men and
women of the Danville Fire Department,
and the work we do. The
Danville Fire Department was established in 1858. In 1935, The
Danville Fire Department was unionized by the International
Association of Firefighters. The Danville Fire Department
proudly protects 33,800 people living in an area of 16.8 square
miles. We operate out of 4 stations that protect a primarily
residential area. Our department is a public department whose
members are on a paid status. All of our 51 firefighters and
lieutenants are members of Local 429, International Association
of Firefighters.
