Firefighters thankful for community help
Tuesday April 1, 2008
The Danville Fire Department would like to thank the Red Cross, local businesses and our community for its outpouring of support while working a fire at the downtown area. You stepped in and provided food, water, drinks and other necessities, even through the midnight hour as our firefighters stayed on the scene making sure the hot spots remained under control.
To the firefighters, firefighters union president Aaron Marcott said, "Yesterday was a tough challenge, but your experience, training and skills all came together and stopped what could have been a disaster for this community. To stop a fire of that size to the building of origin is an amazing feat. Good job everyone."
We believe that with your support, we will be able to meet the challenges that lie ahead, not only for our department but also for the city of Danville.
